I ordered scallion pancakes from Eastern Bay Chinese Restaurant through Uber Eats and found a piece of metal wire/steel fibre in the food. I filed a complaint with Franklin County Public Health. FCPH completed a foodborne complaint inspection on 05/22/2026. The inspection report documented violations related to physical contamination and food-contact surfaces. The report stated that after steel wool was used to clean pans, the pans were not properly rinsed before use, allowing a piece of steel fibre to make it into guest food. The report also noted a critical violation involving food-contact surfaces. I was not injured, but this was a serious food safety issue involving a sharp metal object in prepared food. I am sharing this so other customers can make an informed decision.

I ordered Shrimp Lo Mein from Uber One and it was pretty good. The container of my Lo Mein looked smallish but I was stuffed and had to force myself to finish it 😝😉🍜 I just ordered dinner again for this evening and I’m looking forward to it already! The Lo Mein was not dry at all. Not bursting with flavor but definitely good.

the restaurant is very underrated, I'm just in shock. This is the first real Chinese restaurant I've been to in America in the last 15 years. I know Chinese cuisine well, believe me, and I've been to China very often before, probably 30-40 trips. I chose Sichuan cuisine, but of course, it will seem spicy to someone, and I'm not as young as I was 15-20 years ago, but still, my body may have perceived it very pleasantly. Wonderful atmosphere, calm piano music, very polite waitress, and strangely enough very few people. If I lived in this city, I would come here constantly, several times a week. It was very nice to spend the evening here. Thank you very much

Eastern Bay Chinese Restaurant is a great spot if you’re in the mood for some tasty Chinese food. The place has a really nice vibe, with decor that gives it an authentic feel. The food was seriously good, full of flavor and cooked just right. The service was super quick – we didn’t have to wait long at all, which was a big plus. The background music was a nice touch too, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. If you’re thinking about ordering delivery, I’d definitely recommend it. The food holds up well, and you get the same delicious taste at home as you would if you ate there. Overall, a solid choice whether you’re eating in or getting it to go.

Food was phenomenal. Excellent customer service. This is a hidden gem in Columbus. Big group of 7, every one of us tried each other's food. It was all delicious. Give this place a shot. I would post 6 stars for food if I could.
